Smith Mountain Lake Yacht Club LLC, doing business as Smith Mountain Marine Service & Sales (SMMS&S), is pleased to bring quality sales and service to this wonderful community.  SMMS&S is located in Crystal Shores Marina Resort on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.  The original Smith Mountain Yacht Club was founded in 1964 and had been under the management of the Arnold family for over 50 years. Now, carrying on this fine tradition, the service manager Peyton Canary and his SMMS&S staff are continuing to provide boat maintenance and sales in the same location that the service center has been in for the last 55 years.

Peyton Canary, owner of Smith Mountain Marine Service and Sales, started working at SMYC as a marine technician in 1997.  He has attended Mercury University every year and earned his master certification in both Mercury outboards and Mercruiser sterndrives.  He became service manager in 2000, but continued being a technician in addition to his service manager duties.  He has also attended other education opportunities with Yamaha and SeaRay.  Before beginning his career as a marine technician, he worked as a machinist and an automotive machinist in Arizona and Virginia.

All of the technicians have attended factory training or have years of experience with various makes and types of boats.  The mechanics attend Mercury University, both online and also classes in Atlanta, almost every year.  The technicians also have extensive experience with Sea Ray boats and Berkshire Pontoons because SMYC sold them for so many years.
